Overview

Highlights
The Annapurna range is a vast massif with several peaks above 7000m. Part of the range forms a natural semicircular gallery known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, marked by giants as Annapurna 1, Glacier Dome, Gangapurna, Fang and Machhapuchhare. We trek through forested hillsides to Ghorepani where we ascend Poon Hill for a magnificent panoramic sunrise of the Annapurnas and Dhaulagiri. Entering a narrow valley we pass directly below Machhapuchhare before reaching the Sanctuary, a veritable home of the Gods. Less than 150 people have climbed Annapurna, yet some of the best books on climbing recount tales of this mountain. Compelling reading can be found in Herzog’s Annapurna, about the initial ascent; Annapurna: A Woman’s Place, about the first team of women to climb it; and Annapurna South Face, climber Bonington’s terrifying account of taking a particularly challenging path up the mountain.
Why does Annapurna make for such compelling accounts, when so many more people have climbed Everest, K2, and others of the 10 highest mountains? It surely has something to do with the extreme dangers of Annapurna. Though many trekkers don’t realize it, by traveling to ABC base camp (generally by way of the Sanctuary Trek or the Annapurna Circuit), you are walking up the most dangerous mountain in the world.

Trek Reviews
"Backpacking with Treks With Ayan Brahma is like going on an adventure with friends without having to deal with all the logistics of the trip. The guides are very professional but they are also friendly and fun. It's obvious that we love the outdoors and they did everything possible to make our trip on the Boulder Mail Trail a fantastic and safe experience. We will choose Treks With Ayan Brahma again when looking for another outdoor adventure." - Kyla Simpson
"I didn't quite know what to expect when I signed up for this trip, but I can easily say this far exceeded any of my expectations, and I would recommend it to anyone. To say the least, this was the first vacation I had taken where I left w/ a sense of accomplishment. It was easily the experience of a lifetime, and words cannot describe the overall experience. Just awesome!!" - Matthew Kimmick
